The purpose of playing blackjack
Blackjack is played against the dealer. Therefore, the main goal is to collect a combination of cards that is superior to the dealer's hand, but without busting. The best hand has 21 points. Any combination with a total of more than 21 points is automatically eliminated from the game.
Please note that you do not need to always score 21 points in order to beat the dealer. To do this, it is enough to have a hand, the sum of the points of which exceeds the total sum of the dealer's points.
The values of the cards in blackjack
All face cards (king, queen and jack) are worth 10 points. Ace can be worth either 1 or 11 points, depending on which value is more profitable at the moment. The cost of the rest of the cards is equal to their numerical value. For example, 3 spades will give you 3 points, and 6 clubs will give you 6 points. The suit of the cards has nothing to do with their value.
