The way two journalists from the country's number one channel disgraced Indian journalism by interviewing the Russian President is shameful. Neither the questions were of any standard, nor did they demonstrate any grasp of the subject. It seemed as if the questions had been written and sent by someone else. There were several moments when President Putin seemed to feel that these questions could only have come from someone of a very low caliber. Well, the plight of Indian TV journalism began in 1991 when cable TV arrived in India and Western channels started dancing into your bedrooms.

Then, in the race for channels and money, many journalists became millionaires, building mansions. And look at their habit: they are still using the dilapidated structure that a mob demolished in Ayodhya in 1992 as a source of lifeblood for their journalism.  Thank goodness for Narendra Modi, who has transformed Ayodhya into a beautiful tourist destination today, in addition to the Ram Temple.

But the journalism that once thrived on ideas has now descended into such a grotesque form that studios have become battlegrounds, and the battleground has become journalism itself, even if they don't broadcast it on social media. So, what remains of journalism? You can invite four people into a studio and create a show. No, don't say that this is what the audience wants to see. The audience has a far more analytical mind than you, and this is evident when you invite them to your studio shows. But where do you allow such viewers or experts to speak? Perhaps the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with the Press Information Bureau and the Press Council of India, are also giving you free rein to engage in this shameless spectacle. Gentlemen and ladies, if you have any respect left for journalism, if you have any shame or decency, then please practice journalism. Then at least some part of the billions of rupees you have amassed from TV news over the past 35 years will be justified. I am quite certain that this is why the Honorable Prime Minister probably doesn't give interviews to TV journalists or hold press conferences, so please don't blame him either. Since starting my journalism career in 1997, I have visited Ayodhya thousands of times and stayed there for months at a time, talking to people. Many Muslims have now accepted the Ram Temple, respecting the order of the Honorable Supreme Court, so at least now let's talk about some other topic. Let's talk about the changes Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath have brought to Ayodhya, and listen to the problems of the common people there. But you people are too busy with your cockfighting to bother with anything else.

It's not the way Global Journalism or Global Reporting works. You need to go back to a Journalism School and get a training to horn your skilss. How long you will keep hating with Safron color. Just accept it as way of life, culture and dharma.
